Who we are.And what we can do for you!
We can say with confidence that, our overall achievement rates make us one of the UK`s leading independent training providers. In the academic year 2019, both our attendance and achievement rates were 98%, with 68% of our unemployed clients gaining employment and a further 24% continuing education. Our priority is to satisfy our learners, their feedback is critical and we are constantly looking at new ways to engage with every individual. It is no coincidence that, as we have become more innovated and been prepared to engage in a variety of new ways – the response from our learners has increased.
The ability to share knowledge, whilst also being able to adapt to learners’ individual needs are qualities/skills which sometimes go unrecognised. When these qualities are coupled with pride and a genuine desire to help people, you start to understand the culture and ethos of our "special" business.
My background began within manufacturing and employment law, but my motivation soon diverted to training others and helping people achieve their aspirations. Many will say that my passion is my job, but when I am not working I enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures, gardening, sewing, cooking and spending quality time with my family.
As a time served Engineer and experienced CEO and Managing Director, I was tired of constantly travelling abroad and decided that the time was right to join Go4it and use the experiences and knowledge I had to help and motivate others to achieve. When I am not training or carrying out my operational role, you will usually find me on the golf course or embarking upon the latest home improvement!
Key Worker / Work Coach
I have 30 years experience as a teacher and I am passionate about supporting and raising the aspirations of our participants so they can achieve their capabilities. I am creative and think outside the box as all pathways are not the same.......... I love to travel and spend quality time with my globe trotting family.
Security & Mental Health First Aid Tutor
Having worked previously within the NHS and the Security Industry I have a wealth of experience to share with my participants. I also work in a voluntary capacity as a First Responder alongside East Midlands Ambulance Service, dealing with 999 emergency calls. When I have any free time, I like to spend it at my allotment or crocheting.
Functional Skills Tutor
I have a flamboyant dress sense and have been described as 'odd and eccentric', but my participants all seem to love this! I have taught in many different settings including colleges for the blind, pupil referral units and youth prison. The aim of my teaching is to make it fun, rewarding and to make people feel at home. When you succeed, I succeed!
Security & Mental Health First Aid Trainer/ Tutor/Work Coach
Despite being one of the youngest members of the team, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience – as well as being a Mental Health First Aid England trained coach, my specialisms also include Health & Safety, Security and Digital Skills. In my spare time, I revert back to my passion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I coach at Carlson Gracie Hull.
As Lead IQA, Arlette keeps everyone on their toes; ensuring procedures are adhered to and learners receive the very best advice, guidance, training and support during their time with Go4it. You will often see her appear in your training session as she reviews the training being provided by your Tutor and the work you have undertaken as the learner. Arlette loves the outdoors and has been known to the trapeze!
