What are your opening times?
Our opening times are Mon-Thurs 0900-1700 and Fri 0900-1300Can I phone up?

That's okay, just pop in or phone up and one of our lovely staff will discuss with you.Is my course funded from the job centre?
No, course funding comes from partners and projects that are not related to the job centre. However, we have a great working relationship with the job centre coaches who frequently pass people to us to help get back into work.Have you got an email address?

Don't panic, give us a call or a text and let us know your name and we will do our best to accomodate you.What if I fail a test or an exam?
We normally offer a resit to those who fail for whatever reason, we may offer some extra assistance or the chance to restudy a certain element to help you before a resit.What if I have learning difficulties or additional needs?
Please let the person know who is doing your initial assessment and starter paperwork and they can add it to your file, if you come on a training course and you require anything else please discreetly speak to your tutor.Do I need to bring ID?
Ideally yes, our staff will ask for copies of ID to assist us with certain funding applications or to make sure you are eligible to sit exams.Where can I park?
We do not have any parking on our premises. However, you can use a council disk and park on the side streets close by or pay for parking in Sainsbury's.Do you provide interpretors?
No, we do not offer interpreting services. However, we have a translating device for use in non examination settings. We can also request for certain qualifications that exams be in your nature language.What ages do you support?
We support adults aged 16+How long before I get my results or certificate?
That is entirely up to the awarding body, once we have completed our training and submitted the paperwork then it is entirely up to the awarding body to decide when and if you get your certificate.How can I pay?
You can pay by card at our office or you can pay online by receiving a link from us and using your card details securely to pay.Is all training done in the classroom?
That depends on the course, some training courses require nothing but classroom work but others have practical elements that must be conducted off site.Security Questions
What ID do I need for a security badge?
x2 from Group A and x2 from Group B (Check the gov website)What's the difference between the Security Top up and Refresher training?
SIA DS Top up was the old upskill qualification, all Door Supervisor's before renewal of their license must have sat a regulated First Aid qualification and a DS Refresher course.I don't want to work as a Door Supervisor, can i do the Security Guard License?
You can indeed, however most people come to us a do the Door Supervisor license as this enables you to work in almost all security roles that are front facing. For example, under a DS license you can work as both a Door Supervisor and a Security Guard but with a Security Guard license you can only work as a Static Security Guard.Can I get a license with a criminal record?
That is not up to us that is up to the SIA, if you go to Google and look for "SIA Criminality Checker" you can put in the relevant data regarding your case and they will let you know if they might refuse your application.Do I have to be filmed?
Yes, parts of the qualification you are required to be filmed acting out scenarios or using a radio effectively.How will i get my badge?
During your course, create an SIA account and make sure your phone number is up to date. Once you have completed your training and it has been awarded the SIA will check it and add it to your portal at which point you will receive a text.Is there a license fee?
Yes, check on the SIA website for up to date fees.What if I miss a day due to illness?
You must contact us as soon as possible so we can assess if you can continue, you will either have to make up the hours or come along on the next course and your current progress will carry over.Can you help me get a security job after I have finished my training?
Yes, we are in contact with multiple Security Companies that we are more then happy to pass your details to to look at getting an interview and a job.Functional Skills
What is the main difference between GCSE and Functional Skills Exam?
Both GCSEs and Functional Skills are accepted UK-wide, regulated by Ofqual, and suitable foradult learners. GCSE exams are sat only in May or November, whereas Functional Skills exams can
be taken all year round.
What equivalent level is a level 2 Functional Skills qualification?
Skills qualifications use shorter, more flexible assessments, whereas GCSEequivalency tests involve longer, traditional exam papers. Although both are equivalent to a GCSE grade 4, they suit different learners
and purposes.
How long does it take to pass?
The duration of a face-to-face Functional Skills course (in English or Maths) can vary quite a bitdepending on your starting level, a how the course is scheduled and your commitment, but there
are some common patterns: All classes are face-to-face, 2 hours per week and course lengths may differ.
What affects the length?
–Your starting skill level, someone already near the required standard may complete muchfaster.
–Home study time – most courses need you to practise outside class.
– Assessment scheduling, you usually sit the Functional Skills exams after the teaching portion, so end dates may depend on exam availability.
